Celebrating Sandwich Night in Savannah

Jamie and Bobby Deen recently welcomed the winner of our Sandwich Night Sweepstakes to their hometown of Savannah, Georgia.  The winner enjoyed dinner at the famous Lady & Sons restaurant, and then spent the following day in the kitchen making sandwiches with Jamie and Bobby.  But our winner wasn’t cooking in just any kitchen – she was in Paula Deen’s former home, in the very kitchen where she still films her Food Network show.

The grain-packed lunch menu included the Deen brothers’ Perfect Chicken Sandwich–a recipe the boys created exclusively for GFF–Couscous Salad, and Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies.  But the best part of the day wasn’t the food – it was meeting the First Lady of Southern Cooking, Paula Deen.  Paula stopped in to say hello and meet our prize winner, even taking the time to pose for a couple of pictures.
